Translation and language cuts

A language cut is your finished video, rendered again in another language from the same storyboard. It is not subtitles over the original, and it is not new audio laid over old footage. Presenter scenes are rendered against the new language, so the lip-sync matches the words.

Use language cuts when you sell or train in more than one market and want the same advert, the same face and the same brand in each language.

Reignitor supports more than 80 languages.

  1. Open Language Cuts

Either open Projects, then Language Cuts, or, on a canvas with a finished film, open the Build advert menu and choose Add a language. The second way opens the page with that film already chosen.

  2. Pick a finished video

Choose a finished Brand Flow advert or a training video. Only videos you have already rendered appear here.

  3. Pick the languages

Select each language you want. Languages that already have a cut are greyed out, so you never render the same one twice by accident.

  4. Check what it will take

The page shows how many new cuts you picked. Each cut is a full render that re-renders every scene of the video, so each one costs credits. Motion graphics scenes cost less to localise than presenter scenes.

  5. Render

Select Render (the button shows how many cuts, for example Render 3 cuts). The cuts are queued and render one after another. Follow them in the render queue.

The finished cuts are kept with the original video. On the shared watch page, viewers can switch between languages while it plays.

  • Get the original right first. Every cut copies its storyboard, so a fix made after the cuts means rendering every language again.
  • Keep scripts short and plain. Short lines translate better and keep scenes to time.
  • Use a presenter whose look suits every market you plan to reach.
